Funeral Ceremonies

A farewell that feels like them, not a service that feels like any other.

Heartfelt, dignified, completely personal tributes — written and delivered with the greatest of care.

A funeral is one of the most important pieces of writing a family will ever ask for. It has to be true. It has to be theirs. And it has to be held with care — from the first phone call to the final words.

I sit with families, often in their own home, and listen for as long as it takes. I gather the small things — the phrase they always used, the song they hummed in the car, the way they took their tea — and weave them into a tribute that feels like them, not a service that feels like any other.

I work closely with your funeral director, take the pressure off, and stand beside you on the day with calm and warmth. Whether the ceremony is religious, secular or somewhere in between, I'll honour your wishes completely.

If you have lost someone and you'd like to talk, please reach out. There is no pressure, and no fee for an initial conversation.

How we'll work together

A gentle, considered process.

  1. 01

    A first call

Whenever you're ready. I'll listen, answer any questions, and gently explain what happens next. No pressure of any kind.

  2. 02

    Meeting the family

I sit with you — often in your own home — and take the time to hear about the person we're honouring. Stories, photographs, memories. No rush.

  3. 03

    Writing the tribute

I write the ceremony entirely for you. You'll have a draft to read in advance, with all the time you need to add, change or quietly remove anything.

  4. 04

    Standing beside you

On the day I arrive early, work closely with your funeral director, and lead the ceremony with calm, warmth and complete care.

In their words

"Jodie gave my mam the farewell she deserved. She listened to every story, and she made us feel held from the first phone call to the last word."

Common questions

Things families often ask.

How quickly can you arrange a funeral ceremony?
I will always do everything I can to be there for a family in time. Most funerals are arranged within one to two weeks; I'll prioritise yours as soon as we speak.
Do you work with our funeral director?
Yes. I work closely with funeral directors across the North East and Merseyside, and am happy to liaise directly with yours so you don't have to carry the back-and-forth.
Can the ceremony include religious elements?
Of course. Many families ask for a blended ceremony — a hymn, a prayer, a reading from scripture — alongside personal tributes. Whatever feels right for the person we're honouring.
What if we can't afford the full fee?
Please speak to me, in confidence. The Eternal Kindness Promise exists exactly for this — no judgement, no forms, just a quiet conversation about how I can help.
