Wedding Ceremonies

A wedding ceremony as unique as the love behind it.

Outdoor, woodland, garden, country house, elopements, same-sex and humanist-inspired ceremonies — across the North East and beyond.

Your wedding ceremony is the moment everything is said out loud. The promises, the meaning, the laughter and the quiet tears — all gathered into one short stretch of time that you will carry with you forever.

I take the time to know you both properly: how you met, the small things you love about each other, the inside jokes, the values you want to weave into the day. Then I write something only you could have. No templates. No copied wording. Every sentence yours.

Whether you're marrying in a woodland glade, a country garden, a coastal cliff-top or your favourite back room — I'll meet you where you are, dress for the weather, and lead a ceremony that feels completely, unmistakably you.

If you're imagining something a little different — something that feels like you — let's talk.

How we'll work together

A gentle, considered process.

  1. 01

    A first conversation

A relaxed call or coffee. No commitment. Just space to share what you're imagining and ask anything you'd like.

  2. 02

    Your story, gathered

An in-depth meeting where I learn how you met, what you love, the small things that make you, you.

  3. 03

    Written from scratch

I draft a ceremony shaped entirely around you. You'll read it well before the day — and we'll refine it together.

  4. 04

    Held on the day

I arrive early, dress for the setting, and lead a ceremony that feels calm, warm and entirely yours.

In their words

"Jodie didn't just deliver our ceremony — she wrote something that sounded like us on the best day of our lives. People are still talking about it."

Common questions

Things families often ask.

Is a celebrant ceremony legally binding?
Celebrant-led ceremonies in England are not currently legally binding on their own — couples usually complete a short registry signing separately. The celebrant ceremony is the meaningful one: the words, the vows, the moment everything is said out loud.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book between nine and eighteen months ahead, especially for spring and summer weekends. If your date is sooner, please still reach out — I keep some space for last-minute enquiries.
Will you travel?
Yes. I'm based in the North East and regularly travel across Northumberland, County Durham, Tyne & Wear, Yorkshire and Merseyside. Further afield is possible — just ask.
Can we include religious or cultural elements?
Absolutely. Your ceremony can be entirely secular, gently spiritual, or weave in religious readings, cultural traditions and family rituals. It's your day — I shape it around you.

Next step

Let's talk about your day.

Tell me a little about you both, your date and where you'd like to marry. I'll reply personally, usually within a day.
